The doctrines of grace, also known as the five points of Calvinism, are a set of theological beliefs that are central to the theology of John Calvin and his followers. These doctrines focus on the sovereignty of God in salvation and emphasize the fact that salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace, and that people are unable to earn or merit it through their own efforts. The five points of Calvinism are:

  1. Total Depravity: This doctrine teaches that, because of the fall of humanity into sin, all people are born with a sinful nature and are unable to choose to follow God or do good works on their own.
  2. Unconditional Election: This doctrine teaches that God has chosen, before the foundation of the world, those whom he will save and that this choice is not based on anything that people do or do not do.
  3. Limited Atonement: This doctrine teaches that the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross was specifically intended to save the elect and that his death was not intended to make salvation possible for all people.
  4. Irresistible Grace: This doctrine teaches that, when God chooses to save someone, he does so in such a way that the person cannot resist his grace and will inevitably be saved.
  5. Perseverance of the Saints: This doctrine teaches that those who are truly saved will persevere in their faith and will not lose their salvation.

Just a little primer for you.
