It might seem baffling, bewildering or frankly absurd that there are SO MANY tools out there now using AI to do something. It won’t be long before you can have a discussion with your toaster, will it?

As a small to medium business leader, manager or owner it might seem confusing to know what AI tools to use and when but, the important thing is that you can start today. Whether it’s finance, marketing or even data analysis AI can help you.

The confusing

There are many ways that small businesses can make use of AI tools to improve their operations and extract more value from their data. Some examples include:

Chatbots: Small businesses can use chatbots to handle customer service inquiries and support, which can save time and money.

Predictive analytics: Small businesses can use predictive analytics to analyze historical data and make predictions about future customer behaviour. This can be used to improve sales, marketing, and customer service.

Image and voice recognition: Small businesses can use image and voice recognition technologies to automate tasks like inventory management, customer service, and even bookkeeping.

Automated financial reporting: AI-enabled financial reporting software can help small businesses automatically generate accurate financial reports, which can save time and reduce errors.

Marketing automation: AI-powered marketing automation tools can help small businesses better target their marketing campaigns, personalize their messaging, and optimize their ad spend.

Supply chain optimization: AI can help small businesses optimize their supply chain operations by providing better insights into supply and demand patterns, reducing lead times and improving logistics.

It’s worth noting that, while many of these AI tools are available and relatively easy to use, some may require a certain level of expertise to fully leverage their capabilities. For example, implementing predictive analytics may require hiring a data scientist or working with a partner that specializes in the field or, hanging on for a bit and utilising any new products that come to market.

In general, the best way for small businesses to start making use of AI tools is to begin by identifying specific problems or opportunities that the business is facing, and then researching which AI tools are available that could help address those issues. After that, it’s important to experiment with different solutions to see what works best for the particular business.
