I think the advance of cryptocurrency has taken a considerable hit recently (either engineered or otherwise) and will take a while to re-emerge as a competitor to mainstream currencies. It's still a wild west and to be honest, i think the underlying blockchain technology ahs more value (present and future) than the cryptocurrency for which it was created. State sponsored digital currencies will become the norm as cash is done away with but a non-aligned, international crypto currency not controlled by a single body will struggle to emerge in the next 10 years I feel.
