Find your tribe.
Find your tribe for there lies your territory and within that lies your treasure.
Shaun Turner
So, if you’re like me, you will have spent a lot of your life working for others whilst running several side projects that in one way or another, excited you. Like most of these ventures, you’ll have toiled away on the “thing”(in my case, coding) late into the night and over weekends to see if something was possible never mind actually viable.
Then, at some point, you’ll have realised that you need help or, you want someone to share the load.
One of the biggest (and sadly most frequent) mistakes I ever made was involving the wrong people in my projects. Not because they were not technically gifted or had the abilities and time to help out but because they didn’t share the same passion or passion for the same outcome. In short, they had a different reason for being part of “it” and so their energy, effort, commitment and output reflected their desired outcome, not mine.
Finding your tribe is so important. picking your people to create a tribe that coalesces around an idea that resonates the same passion and intensity you do is critical to any project's success.
To build or join the right tribe, you need to be clear in your own mind what that goal is, what the passion is, what the VISION is, and crucially, you need to articulate that clearly and concisely.
“If you are working on something really exciting that you care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you.”
Steve Jobs
